Why directly after installing CNR for Mint Daryna does CNR show 20+ updates available but Mint Update doesn't show any?

I haven't tried updating these through CNR but I have read where others have tried the updates and most of them fail.

Any official answer as to why this is?

Since there was no answer for my first question, maybe this will be easier.

After installing CNR on Daryna, then installing Adobe Acroread with CNR, Mint update quickly shows an update available for Acroread.

I guess obviously the CNR repos. are not synced with the Mint repos.

Will it always be this way even when you're supporting several Linux flavors?

Doesn't CNR need to be as up to date as the offical repos. for it to be of any value? Otherwise, why not just use Synaptic?
