I have Freespire 2.0.8 installed, and am trying to get it to print to a Brother HL1240 that is connected to my Verizon brand router via a Hawking Printer server. Another windows XP computer connected to the same network prints ok. Printer server has IP address of 192.168.1.250. I have selected "add printer" as Network Printer w/IPP , and entered URL of 192.168.1.250:631/lpt1, as directed by the Hawking instructions. Test page won't print. I had this working once before with Freespire 2.0.3, but I don't remember how I set it up. any ideas?

This is really the CNR forums, you'd probably be better off asking this in the Freespire forums.

You might try setting your printer up the normal way, through the control center, tell it that it's a network printer and do a scan. See if it shows up. I'm not sure the /lpt1 needs to be there But it might if that's the name of your Hawking Print server.

Sometimes you can print off a test page in XP and that will tell you the exact address of your printer.
