Is the logic for the default view in other-than-Linux operating systems understood?

It makes perfect sense.

Someone running a different OS has no use for Linux apps, but they certainly can use the web based apps like Ajax.

Understood....but Someone using windows and who doesn't use linux or understand CNR, might be confused or not see/understand the filter. ("I'm checking curious about linux software and there are just these web apps!?!? but the Heading says "easiest way to get Linux software" and I'm using Windows so I'm leaving this site"

How about a pop-up message (the first time they visit - using cookies?) saying: "Since you are using Windows, this list is filtered to just display web apps that you can try using Windows OR linux. If would you like to browse the many linux applications available, please change the filter choice in the CNR.com page. Click OK to proceed."

Cheers

Good suggestion. Would changing the wording on the Filter help???

I dunno....I can't think of anything better than "Filter"

Something visual to draw attention to the fact that there is a filter is more important than the wording maybe.

The same can be said for users of Linspire 5.0, like myself. I guess it's a lost cause comming back to CNR with my fingers crossed each time. I will just have to learn how to apt-get a tarball terminal mode folder (whatever that is) to get the latest Firefox and Flash Programs updated. The One Click Downloads were great while they lasted. Taking the Legacy site down was sort of below the belt, don't you think?
