Hi,

Although I have purchased additional 6.0.17 * 3 copies for friends, I also have a requirement to keep Linspire 5.0.59 updated.
Now that CNR is no longer available - I found I could download the x86-deb version from Adobe's site (~47MB), and I think I opened the .deb with ARK, then the two .gz files (control & data), which I also opened with ARK - I was able to navigate through various levels to locate the acroread script in ~/AdobeReader_enu-8.1.2_SU1-1.i386/control/data/opt/Adobe/Reader8/bin, and successfully execute ./acroread from that directory. In ~/AdobeReader_enu-8.1.2_SU1-1.i386/control there are two shell scripts "prerm" and "postinst", which respectively appear to this linux novice to be intended to remove any previous version and to create a desktop icon and menu entry linked to Adobe Acrobat executable.

Executing both of those icons by double-clicking appears to do nothing whatsoever, ditto for running in a terminal.
I need the real Adobe Acrobat (>= v6.xx) in order to be able to print hard copies of electronically purchased tickets with the section/aisle/seat numbers plus the venue and date. Displaying them in anything else leaves all those blank.

I guess I didn't pick the correct location to download the .deb file to as I hadn't any former experience -- so can someone put me on the correct path? I'm going to experience this same problem with Flash 9 and hopefully I can also update the Java from 1.42xxx to 1.6xx!

Mike
