I am looking for software to edit videos. Not just cut and paste, I want to edit the color, lighting, etc, as can be done by Gimp on still photos. I have some videos that were made with a bright back lighting and I want to lighten up the foreground. Is such available on CNR? Is suche even available?

Jim.Isbell & JD:

great question. have also wanted to edit and produce videos. so I just tried to download cinelarra only to get the following notice

"Installation status for this product. This product is not available for your distribution." But, I got a download notice for the same. Seems odd. Can either of you explain?

Many thanks.

Kenneth

I went back to CNR and discovered that this program runs only under Linspire or Freespire 1.0. OK, thats not a problem as I can dual boot this computer in either 1.0 or 2.0. So I reboot into Freespire 1.0 then go to CNR to download Cienlerra. I click on "Install" and get the question "open" or "save to disk". I try to open and it says this is a .cnr file and wants to know what application to open it with. I havent the foggiest idea what application to use so I decide to "save to disk". After saving to disk I try to run it there...and as could be expected..., it still wants to know what application to use to open it. Back to the start of the circle, I am. Still no Cinelerra!!

Jim, if I recall FS 2.0.8 that freespire is built off of ubuntu 7.04 but FS 1.0 is built from a different debian. was not around then and lost memory on much of the guts.

good luck. glad to see your efforts.
