Hi,

you can install the libraries from Synaptic package manager, you will need libqt4 libs:

libqt4-assistant

libqt4-gui

libqt4-network

libqtcore4

libqtgui4

all suppose to be the same version ; 4.4.0.1 (ubuntu 5), you can also download them from packages.ubuntu.com

This works, but then is problem to run CNR client. About this I m looking for help as well...

Good luck.

It only works on freespire where it is preinstalled... It works perfectly so why not with Ubuntu... Does anyone know how to get through? In freespire was required the ROOT access but in Ubuntu I dont know how to switch on ROOT. Any ideas?

I think I stumbled on to it.

You can download all the individual dependencies that are missing by using this main link and then searching for each package that is listed as missing.

http://packages.ubuntu.com

Then download whatever packages (dependencies) that you receive error messages on untill the CNR installer works through to completion.

Hope it works!

Just add this repository

deb http://+fr.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu+ hardy-backports main universethensudo dpkg -i cnr*.deb

hi, many thanks for this post. But let me understand; do you open the source list and add the entry at the end and then what? pardon me, I'll open a new thread.

thanks, Ken

Hi,

on Hardy 8.04.1 I was successful with the installation of CNR (with all required libs) but while install new SW an error has occured the process...like my computer is speaking in other language than the cnr server. Now I m using Gutsy again because there is no problem to pair it. Only on Gutsy I have problems with chinese fonts...on Hardy works everything perfect except CNR...I hope somebody is going to fix it soon.

Mar, I also was able to install cnr on 8.04.1 but have a followon error. Looking for a solution yesterday I saw a break down on Ubuntu Forum that may be helpful. If I recall correctly, it involved opening terminal, getting a <source list> and then finding the line that shows "harly" which needs to be changed to "gutsy" if that is the OS you are using or vice versa. A mentor who helped the user instructed him/her "to remove and replace it with gutsy" and do a return or close the source list, etc. In the user's next several postings I saw him/her say "...... hey many thanks, your help overcame and resolved the error message; I appreciate your practical step by step walk through". {About the Ubuntu Forum. I learned from the get go in nine days as a member, the agreement precautions users to be extra courteous one with another; sounded good to me.}

If you have not done what I a non-experienced volunteer call a "request for a <source list>", it won't be possible to locate or change the "harly" to "gutsy" or vice versa as your OS calls for. Hope a more experienced tech may give you further assistance. In a separate thread listed below you note I am looking for a way to overcome an error message myself. Good luck.I will be looking back here for clues;

but, I assure you http://ubuntuforums.org has many more volunteers working on behalf of users than I have ever seen on CNR.com's community; this is not meant to be a reflection on cnr.com community rather a real observation of what I saw since membering up there. Again, good luck!

solved my apt update error with help from Ubuntu forum and continue to run it... cannot speak to cnr, which I purchased when using FS or LSpire. is interesting to me that the CNR icon on my desktop was removed by an unknown step when I did certain ubuntu updates.
