I had trouble downloading Lotus Symphony through CNR and after a couple days of trial and error, I finally was able to download this file. I have used it for the past year, and actually found that I prefered to use Lotus for my regular office needs over Microsoft 2007. So, you can imagine how excited I was to see that I was able to download Lotus through CNR to my Ubuntu 8.04 linux distribution. As a teacher, I've used Open Office 2.4, but have found the graphical interface of Lotus Symphony to be appealing. I highly recommend Lotus Symphny, especially if you create and utilize Powerpoint presentations in your work.

What do you think of the formula editor? I often find it hard to insert some formula, particularly complex ones in Office Office 3.0 Beta. The only reason why I still use MS Word in doing most of my assignments is the ease in inserting formula. Open Office 3.0 Beta is a great software but the problem lies in the fact that the formula editor is unfamiliar (sometimes frustrating) to those who are used to MS Word's Equation Editor. Other than such issue, I think either Lotus or any other open office suite such as Open Office.Org or KOffice is much better than MS's Office Suite in terms of speed and functionality.
