DVD Player

I am not new to Linspire (I joined when it was still called Lindows and have run every version since then -- am now on 6.0) but I am not particularly good at keeping my system running smoothly.

On my present OS I find that I can't play DVDs like I used to under Five-O (I used to use Xine which ran smoothly). Now I find it's no longer avaliable. What on earth does everyone else use? I tried Kaffeine but it is unusable, my system goes into slow motion. Please can anyone help?

I use VLC_media_player (VideoLAN) most of the time -- it works just fine on Linspire 6.0.15
