Hi

I receive the message on several applications I've tried to install that they 'are not available for your distribution', my distribution being ubuntu 8.04

I want to transfer my sister's pc from windows to ubuntu and see CNR as a really user-friendly way into linux for her. But I don't want to do it until it's pretty much completely working. So am I doing something wrong or is CNR partially through a transition - if the latter, what is the completion date?

Many thanks

Dave

For clarification from ubuntu 8.04 you installed the CNR Client using GDebi, and logged out of the user account and back in, correct? What messaging is provided from the console command prompt when entering: cnr

Hi

yes, I've taken those steps. If I type cnr in the terminal, the 'Find Software' page opens in my browser and "DebugnetworkState up" appears in the terminal.

There's an updated build in testing that resolves an issue with kubuntu 8.04, but this is a first of the bug existing in ubuntu 8.04. What version of the CNR Client is installed (apt-cache policy cnr-client)?

Hi, I am having th same issues of not being able to install software because it doesn't exist for my platform; and am running Kubuntu 8.04

My CNR info is..

cnr-client:
Installed: 0.2.3825-0cnr1~hardy1
Candidate: 0.2.3825-0cnr1~hardy1
Version table:
*** 0.2.3825-0cnr1~hardy1 0
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

It is kind of.. aggravating seeing all of those programs, but not being able to do anything with them. I hope this helps in some way.
