Since 4/24/08 I have not been able to sucessfully install or update any programs from CNR. Using Linspire 6.017. The message I receive is:Failed to calculate dependencies. The program I've been trying to install is SBackup and I now have 6 updates waiting to be installed. What's the problem?

Pls. Exit CNR (right-click system tray icon), then open the console and from the command prompt: cnr Then use CNR and the console will provide output as to the error...

After sending you the console dump, I restarted as root and the updates and Sbackup all installed properly. Why do I have to use root? What changed???

From the developers: looks like a permissions problem that person should make sure that the account with the issue is a member of an appropriate group to be able to read /var/cache/cnr/client/srcpkgcache.bin

It's going from Bad to Worse! I logged in as root and checker /var. Permissions listed owner and groups as root. Changed it to group users and applied to all sub folders. Did the same thing to /usr.

When I logged back into my user account, my desktop icons were all over the place and all of my partitions are now shown on icons as Hard Disk(s). Hibernaate no longer shows when clicking on Log Out. Also the CNR Running Man has been replaced in the task bar by Network Manager icon and I cannot get CNR to launch from Desktop Icon nor from Applications.

Logged back in as root and changed permissions back the way they were, however the user account did not change. Something very strange going on!

Restarted and ran Diagnostics. Hard Disk(s) Icons no longer on Desktop and Network Manager Icon lo longer in task bar, but CNR logo is not there either. Tried to start CNR from all sources, but faile to load. Hibernate now back on Log Out menu.

What caused my original permissions to change? Ran cnr from console and this is the result: DebugnetworkState up
DebugSetting up dbus Adaptor

Forgot to mention that I changed permissions for /cnr in the /var folder. Logged back in as root and CNR works fine. What do I need to do to fix this mess?

I've done everything I can think of, but cannot get CNR to open or load in either of my user accounts. It tries to load when I first login, but quickly disappears. Clicking on any of the CNR program icons brings up a brief "initializing" window which quickly goes away. It will open in Root. What do I need to do to get CNR working again in user accounts? If I type cnr in console I receive the same error messages as I posted on my last post. Would it help if I ran as Root and uninstalled CNR Client and then reinstalled it?

I uninstalled CNR Client in Root, reinstalled CNR Client from CNR and, after restarting computer, CNR now works in User Accounts.
I had asked if this was a possible solution and am surprised no one came back to answer my question, so I decided to just try it and it worked!
