cannot install libqt4-gui - CNR Client will not install

Help! I tried to install the latest Ubuntu 8.04 (LST) "upgrade" and it did not work on my PC. I then went back and performed a reinstall of Ubuntu 7.10 and got my PC (i386) working again. However, I have tried to reinstall the CNR client and I get this message on the install: cannot install libqt4-gui.

When I try to upgrade the libqt4 pkgs it will not allow them to be installed. Not sure why a working CNR client would stop working after a reinstall but hey, things like this have happened before. The "Update Manager" is telling me that my system is up-to-date.

One more thing... any idea when a 7.10 based Linspire will be available?

You did a clean install of ubuntu 7.10 and unable to install the CNR Client, is that correct?

One more thing... any idea when a 7.10 based Linspire will be available?
Plans to skip to an 8.04 based Freespire, timeframe unknown...

Dr.Jones,

I did a reinstall of Ubuntu 7.10 on top of 8.04 (LST). However, I did repartition the hard drive from two partitions to one. 7.10 is working fine, just can't install CNR due to this problem. I also have had an issue with sound in Flash too.

So Freespire is moving to 8.04 but Linspire in not?

Ken,

To fix the "libqt4-gui" problem in Ubuntu 7.10. go to System/Administration/Software Sources/ and choose additional sources. These items are found in the following tabs:

Ubuntu Software

Third-Party Software

This process will find and install the needed files to fix the problem.
