Ok I am having problems getting amarok player to load so I can use it. I had been using the player before I done a CNR update on april 4th. The amarok splash screen shows up for a few split seconds and then nothing the program will not continue to load, I am currently unable to use the program or anything. I am not sure how to fix this issue. The update version of amarok I currently have installed is 2:1.4.8-0ubuntu2cnr1~feistyskipjack1. I am currently using Linspire 6.0 stable OS. Help is needed to figure out how to either roll back and install to the previous amarok player version as that did work before I updated files a day ago or maybe the program was corrupted during the installation of other updated files, I am not sure.

Have you used the cnr application to remove it and then reinstall?

Also what do you see in the way of error messages if you type amarok from a terminal?

Problem corrected was missing libGL.so.1 files needed to run amaroK.

I fixed the issue for some very weird reason during the latest updates I ended up missing libGL.so.1 which is now pointing to the proper updated libGL file - libGL.so.1.2, which is so that amaroK and even my screen saver changing options would not open. I had to do a fresh reinstall of Linspire via my ISO 6.0 disk and then update the currently new CNR files that was needed. So no biggie, though I was kind of freaking out why I was missing files though, as I do not even delete anything remotely like that in file name.
So I am back up and running and amaroK is now working, after a couple of hours putting all my settings back :D . The fresh reinstall kind of made things run smoother, after the updates. I am wondering if there is not file corruption during updating with CNR off and on. Anyway I am back up and running, ready for the next WTF situation.

This is the third time I have read that the amaroK update has removed libGL.so.1

Bug 1553 filed.
