vmware player update?

Might it be possible to get the latest or at least a newer version of vmware player in the warehouse?

The present vmware player (according to the specifications) is version 1.0.2 which came out in august of 2006.


The newest vmware player is version 2.0.3 which is a whole version step and then some.


Granted that 2.0.3 only came out this month but version 2.0 has been out since April of 2007.

Is the CNR version installing for anyone anyway?

I get a "CNR received a dpkg error" on Linspire 6.

sudo dpkg --configure -a and sudo apt-get -f install didn't help.
