Lightscribe has a website that has the option of a free download with the basic program and drivers so that Linux users can use their Lightscribe function with their DVD burners. It also has a basic program for labeling DVD's and CD's.

+ *Using KPackage I downloaded both programs. When the install function was tried I got RESULT=0. After I pressed "install" . I am fairly new ( and ignorant) about installing Linux software. I have Linspire 6.0 with the latest CNR. Does anyone have the time to give me some pointers on what I did wrong? When I downloaded it I used the Debian download. The website did say that it was only tested on SUSE 10. Also , is APT-get easier to use?</s</p>

Use dpkg to install the debs. Install the LightScribe System Software first, then the label apps.
From the directory the files are in run the command: sudo dpkg -i «filename»
Where «filename» is the name of the deb file. The label apps package gets installed to /opt/lightscribeApplications/
They installed for, but I don't have any lightscribe disks to test the functionality.
