Hi!
I have notice that CNR software that was available under Linspire 5.0 is not all available under 6.0. Now some of this is ok but when it is software that I bougt through CNR (Click-N-Ripoff ) it bothers me. We were told that the software would always be available to us through CNR. It seems that this is a lie. I have some machines at home that still run 5.0 they have Star Office 7 installed and it list under CNR. On the machines that I have 6.0 on when I login to my account under purchases it does not show at all.

I am not supprised at this underhanded move by CNR/Linspire. I am however disapointed by it. I do understand that Star Office 8 is now available but this is as bad a trick as some of Microsofts to just pretend that since I am upgrading my OS that I never bought the office suite. Now I gues they will want me to purchase Star Office 8.

If you ask me this is underhanded business tactics. CNR please put Star Office 7 up as a download for exsiting customer that bought even if you can no longer sell it.

Frederick

I should also menton that I try to file a complaint via the support system, but every time after I would log in it would spew some message about malformed urls and sub domains or such.

All the products that you purchased under the legacy CNR are still there. There are more products being added to CNR.com, but some of the older applications will not function with the newer OSs (Freespire 2.0, Linspire 6.0 ubuntu 7.xx). Sorry, but there are more choices coming down the road...

BTW from what URL are you experiencing the errors???

It is still a rip-off. No one told me that I was buying Star Office till CNR deceides to not support it for some future version of Linspire. Now I do not even have a copy I could try and install on my 6.0 machines. Thanks for the discount Linspire on all the great software that I can use till you deciede to not make it possible to install from CNR. Let the buyer beware as this looks like this is where CNR is going. How many months do they need to run CNR.com as Beta anyways? Most likely forever considering how things seem to go at times.

I also see that another product I bought Crossover Office is not available for 6.0 as well. If this is the way that they are going to mess around with people I will not be buying another product from them. Not even an new version of Linspire. See how well they do in sales once word gets out that they drop software that people have bought from the library at CNR when they do a version upgrade.

So what are you suggesting I go back to 5.0?

The url was the one after login to fill out a support ticket.

First, there are packages that are being transitioned to CNR.com, unfortunately not as quickly as we all would like (pls. understand that this system is still a Beta product). Second, don't think it would be realistic for anyone to guarantee that software purchased will function on all future versions of an OS (most will only guarantee that the software will function of the currently supported OS versions at the time of purchase). I hope anyone would recommend being on the version of an OS that currently supports the software that you require to be productive.

Just tested the Create Incident from Support and functions correctly. Anyone else having issues submitting a support ticket? BTW there's always the Sign-in issues form...

I just love it when there is a problem with one of Linspire's services its automatically assumed that the reason behind it is an evil plot to rip people off. The logical thing to assume would be that we haven't been able to package all the legacy applictions from 3 to 4 years ago in the new system, or even to not assume anything at all and politely ask for an explanation. I especially love it when everyone at Linspire is constantly busting their humps to get as much done as possible without any thanks or appreciation for the things that are accomplished.

Linspire's intent has always been to provide the best user experience possible but circumstances don't always allow that, and you can't always be all things to everyone.

http://www.linspire.com/oldwarehouse

Well, a whole two days notice that we are closing down the old warehouse. Why am I not suprised. I receive an email on Saturday(that I do not see till today) informing me that the old CNR warehouse will be close for good at midnight. So, it is not an evil plot? Now I can not even stay with 5.0 and continue to use Star Office 7.0 and use CNR I must now upgrade to Linspire 6.0 and if i want Star Office I must buy 8.0 possibly at steep discount.

Now, I checked out the Star Office website. Version 5.0 is no longer being supported, however 6.0 and 7.0 are still being supported all I am asking is that Linspire have it in CNR till it is no longer supported by the developer. I am not asking them to sell new copies of it to other folks.

As to asking the support system has not worked for me for some time. A screen shot is attached that shows the response I get. If any one from Linspire reads this I am monitoring this post for reply. Let me know if you get this fixed.

We will try to get the older stuff packaged and imported. You don't have to buy Linspire 6.0, you can download Freespire 2.0 for free. I will talk to Dr. Jones about the forum issue

The link to support is Support.CNR.com or Support.Linspire.com. Curious where you got the link that produces the error message???

Thanks for the reply. That will satisfiy me if they can get 7.0 Star office up. I already have Linspire 6.0 on my laptop so I can install it on the other machines as well.

The forum issue could be related to the fact that my IP address does not resolve to a domain name. I am in Honduras. I believe the ip address is registered in Guatamala. So, goes life here.

Support.Linspire.com

I just clicked on the link at the bottom of the warehouse closing annoucement. Loged in and the next screen is the one I took the screen shot of. I have no problem logging into the new or old CNR warehouse. In fact I have logged into both today.

Will CrossOver Office Standard Edition be available on the new CNR? I had purchased that as well. We use it to run Quicken.

Thanks again for the help!

Yes, there is an issue where our server talks to theirs that we are resolving that prevents us from making that available immediately.
