My CNR didn't work before I downloaded the new CNR... Guess what? Nothing is changed... It still doesn't work... Who said that Linux isn't stable...? That is about as stable as you can get... Has anyone go another way of finding and uploading programs? I need my printers and scanners to be able to have drivers or I am crippled as for as working with my computer... MS Windows crashes all the time but at least the applications work... Is there a version of Linux that allows applications and preriphiles to work? I really want Freespire to work but it doesn't Any suggestions? 512 772 2817

Cnr didnt work here before or after upgrade, it just crashes if you hit the update button, if you hit find software it just opens browser to find software page and if you click any of those Install Now buttons nothing happens, nothing installs.

Cnr is probably the worst package handler I have ever tried.

To blame users as unstable becuase the software doesnt work is just lame.

Either the software works which would be great or maybe it has some fix which is good or it is total shite, I am guessing since there are no reasonable responces to any of the posts declaring CNR not working that this app is total shite.

OK, if you truly desire assistance, what version of the CNR Client is installed (latest is 0.2.3201) on what distribution version???

My apologies for the harsh tone but frustration over the lack of real answers on forums can kind of get to you after a while. I was using version
0.2.3201 after the update for Freespire 2.0.3 and it did nothing but gray out after kicking find software, browser would come up to the catalogue and when clicking install now buttons the pages would just refresh and nothing would happen.Firefox download dialogue was showing .cnr files being downloaded to desktop but no files were being shown there even after opening it as a directory and showing hidden files.Clicking Open in the firefox downloads dialogue did nothing. Hitting the update button just caused CNR to crash.I have since moved to Kanotix and Mepis for two of my boxes but would like to give Freespire another go on the Kanotix box so its not really a dead issue for me.I apologize for the harsh tone and realize it is beta software that will do a lot of good once its working its just when I get frustrated and I see yet another blame the user type response in the forums it kind of sets me off.Ive been using linux as my main os for about 7 years now and have been waiting for that desktop linux OS to finally get "it" right, Freespire looks like it might be close.

The .cnr files were probably downloaded to /tmp and not the desktop.

You may have to set the file association in firefox (if you are using firefox and not the default lbrowser).

Edit>>Preferences, Content tab then click manage in the File Types section.

I'm using the default Web_Browser (Bon Echo 2.0.0.4) and the .cnr files are downloading to the ~/tmp directory. I tried setting the file association in Web_Browser, but the CNR extension isn't listed there. I tried the "open with CNR" command on the *.cnr files in the ~/tmp directory with no result. Moving the files to the Desktop made no difference. I'm using LInspire 6.0.15 and CNR Client version 7.0.0

If you are using the client that was pe-installed in 6.0.15, it is not the latest.

Go here to get the latest: http://www.cnr.com/supportPages/aboutClientInstall.seam

I'm not -- I wasted an hour or two (using dialup) to install the "updated" client, which does nothing better.
