Freespire2.0.3 - Install Now not working?

I installed Freespire 2.0.3 yesterday; when using "Find Software" in Web Browser I click the mouse on "Install Now" (http://cnr.com/fulfill/16432/Bluefish), the page seems to refresh and a Bluefish.cnr file is apparently downloaded to the Desktop (not visible) but no processing starts. When I go to Downloads and click on Open for Bluefish.cnr a CNR application appears on the taskbar, but then vanishes.

Anybody any ideas?

Many thanks,

Kate!!

Pls. verify the version of the CNR Client installed (latest is 0.2.3201). Using the console, from the command prompt:
~$ apt-cache policy cnr-client
cnr-client:
Installed: 0.2.3201
Candidate: 0.2.3201
Version table:
*** 0.2.3201 0

When I tried to run the command in the console I kept getting "command not found", so I tried restarting and then using Diagnostics.

The result was exactly as you gave (0.2.3201), with an extra line at the end:

100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

All the best,

Kate!!

OK, with that information, back to the original issue. When you select the Install Now button it downloads a Bluefish.cnr file which should invoke the CNR Client. Does the Client start-up???

The CNR Client starts up and is initalising, but then ends with an "initalizing failed" message and closes

Try the following:
Right-click the green CNR icon in the system tray, then select: Exit
Open Computer, browse to /var/lib/cnr/client delete: packages
& /var/cache/cnr/client/lists delete: _var_cache_cnr_client_dists_linspire_arch_binary-i386_Packages
Restart CNR
That should hopefully resolve your CNR Client issues...
